Carpet cleaning has been around for many years, but not the new technique recently introduced by Montgomery's CarpetsPlus ColorTile. Owner Vern Montgomery has been in the business 40 years, but until a few months ago had not encountered the Boxxer 421, touted as the ultimate concept in 21st century floor cleaning.
Technician David Goltsch has received extensive product training, and a company van was fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment for cleaning carpets, tiles, stone and furniture.
Designed for all domestic and commercial cleaning purposes, the equipment is part of a 10-stage program custom prepared for each job, which takes about 4 hours on average.
The vehicle is equipped with 70 environmentally friendly chemicals.
The cleaning process includes vacuuming to remove sand, the biggest enemy of any carpet, and spot-treating heavily stained areas. Emulsifier pre-spraying loosens soil from the fibers, which are rake-agitated before the technician uses a special high pressure wand. That's followed by a rotating spray head on a vacuum-style machine that has an extractor with five cleaning heads that shake, scrub and vacuum the carpet fibers.
Customers can then protect and extend the longevity of their carpets by having the original soil and stain protector re-applied with automatic spraying and raking. A heavy commercial floor fan pulling air from above to blow directly into the carpet accelerates the drying process to complete the program.
